Last weekend was the first Kelowna Downhill race in the Skylands neighbourhood, a wonderful hill, much fun was had by all. Marc deMontigny, who collaborates on boards, made the semifinals against some of the best riders in the world. Monday was Go Skateboarding Day, and about 60 skateboarders showed up to bomb parkades and takes on the streets of Kelowna en masse, it was great!
I've finished another run of 15 boards with some new custom one-off designs and a few limited edition graphics. Aaron Enevoldsen has been riding his space monkey custom board and doing some shooting in between outlaw races around Alberta.
Well it's been busy around here, I've been working on new graphics and boards, one of them has my friend Big Mike on it, it's a demo board that I keep around the house if you'd like to try it. I've also got a new shop carrying Noble boards in Vernon, they love the designs and the quality.
Julia came by the shop on the weekend after working on this beautiful website and took some detailed shots of the graphics and stain on the bottoms and tops of the boards. Some of the logos will be covered with clear grip tape. She also got some shots of me working away, I use a little hand carving tool, it's better than anything else when it's sharp.
I came up with a new style of graphics using nothing but wood stain and a small carving tool. It adds a three dimensional aspect to the board and will never ever wear off, it's part of the board.
